Cookies & Privacy Policy
I understand and respect the importance of your Privacy.
This Privacy Policy sets out the basis on which any personal data I collect from you, or you provide to me, will be processed by me.
!!! Please read the following information carefully !!!

What are cookies?
Cookies are the confusingly adorably named tiny text files that can be placed on your computer or mobile device that uniquely (but anonymously) identify your browser or device. They are unable to search your computer in any way, cannot introduce viruses to your computer and contain no personal identifying information about you (basically they are nothing to be afraid of).

What are cookies used for?
Cookies are used by sites or services when they wants to know if your computer or device has visited that site or service before. These cookies on your computer or device can then be used to help remember your preferences (such as language), help you navigate between pages efficiently, and generally improve your browsing experience.
Similarly cookies are used by web publishers to help understand how their site or service is being used. Services such as Google Analytics use cookies to provide anonymous aggregated data such as how long users in general spent on the site, how many pages they visited and in which order etc.
Cookies can also be used for online advertising, by aggregating the very basic information cookies gather, informed guesses can be made about your demographic and ads targeted to you thusly. Or more simply, if you go to a site about watches, it may drop a cookie on your computer, so the next sites you go to will then contain ads about watches.

What types of cookies does The Online Advertising Guide use?
There are generally four categories of cookies: “Strictly Necessary,” “Performance,” “Functionality,” and “Targeting.” The Online Advertising Guide routinely uses three of these types of cookie: “Strictly Necessary,” “Performance,” and “Targeting.”
Here is some information about each cookie category:
Strictly Necessary Cookies. These cookies are essential, as they enable you to move around The Online Advertising Guide and use its features. For example, the cookie to say you have/have not allowed cookies to be used on this site.
Performance Cookies. These cookies collect information about how you have used The Online Advertising Guide, for example Google Analytics, which is used to track basic user behaviour on this site so we can try and improve our users experience.
Targeting Cookies. Our advertising partners or other third party partners may use these types of cookies to deliver advertising that is relevant to your interests. These cookies can remember that your device has visited a site or service, and may also be able to track your device’s browsing activity on other sites or services other than The Online Advertising Guide. This information may be shared with organizations outside The Online Advertising Guide, such as advertisers and/or advertising networks to deliver the advertising, and to help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign, or other business partners for the purpose of providing aggregate Service usage statistics and aggregate Service testing.
Functionality Cookies. The Online Advertising Guide do not use this type of cookies, but just so you know: these cookies allow sites/services to remember how you’re logged in, when you logged in or out, and possibly anything you’ve done on a site while logged in. The information these cookies collect may be anonymous, and they are not used to track your browsing activity on other sites or services.

How long will cookies stay on my device?
The amount of time a cookie stays on your device is variable: the majority of cookies expire after the end of your browsing session, others persist for longer. In online advertising you can generally expect most advertising cookies to last about one month at most (although again it varies).

First and third party cookies.
First-party cookies are cookies that belong to The Online Advertising Guide, third-party cookies are cookies that another party places on your device through our site. Third-party cookies may be placed on your device by someone providing a service for The Online Advertising Guide, for example to help us understand how our service is being used. Third-party cookies may also be placed on your device by our business partners so that they can use them to advertise products and services to you elsewhere on the Internet.

How to control and delete cookies
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.

Your privacy is important to me so I’ve developed a Privacy Policy that covers how I collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your personal information. In addition to this Privacy Policy, I provide data and privacy information imbedded in my products for certain features that ask to use your personal information. I may also use your personal information for account and network security purposes, including in order to protect my services for the benefit of all my users. Where I use your information for anti-fraud purposes it arises from the conduct of an online transaction with me. I limit my uses of data for anti-fraud purposes to those which are strictly necessary and within my assessed legitimate interests to protect my customers and my services. For certain online transactions I may also validate the information provided by you with publicly accessible sources.
I may use your personal information, including date of birth, to verify identity, assist with identification of users, and to determine appropriate services. For example, I may use date of birth to determine the age of emat.tech ID account holders.

For research and development purposes, I may use datasets such as those that contain images, voices or other data that could be associated with an identifiable person. When acquiring such datasets, we do so in accordance with applicable law in the jurisdiction in which the dataset is hosted. When using such datasets for research and development, we do not attempt to re-identify individuals who may appear therein.

Collection and Use of Non-Personal Information
I also collect data in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with any specific individual. I may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. The following are some examples of non-personal information that I collect and how I may use it:
I may collect information such as occupation, language, zip code, area code, unique device identifier, referrer URL, location, and the time zone where a my product is used so that I can better understand customer behavior and improve my products, services, and advertising.
I may collect information regarding customer activities on my website. This information is aggregated and used to help me provide more useful information to my customers and to understand which parts of my website, products, and services are of most interest. Aggregated data is considered non‑personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.
I may collect and store details of how you use my services, including search queries. This information may be used to improve the relevancy of results provided by my services. Except in limited instances to ensure quality of my services over the Internet, such information will not be associated with your IP address.
With your explicit consent, I may collect data about how you use your device and applications in order to help app developers improve their apps.
If I do combine non-personal information with personal information the combined information will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined.

Cookies and Other Technologies
My websites, online services, interactive applications, email messages, and advertisements may use "cookies" and other technologies such as pixel tags and web beacons. These technologies help me better understand user behavior, tell me which parts of my websites people have visited, and facilitate and measure the effectiveness of advertisements and web searches. I treat information collected by cookies and other technologies as non‑personal information. However, to the extent that Internet Protocol (IP) addresses or similar identifiers are considered personal information by local law, I also treat these identifiers as personal information. Similarly, to the extent that non-personal information is combined with personal information, I treat the combined information as personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.
Ads that are delivered by emat.tech’s advertising platform may appear in emat.tech News and in the emat.tech's Store. If you do not wish to receive ads targeted to your interests from emat.tech's advertising platform, you can choose to enable Limit Ad Tracking, which will opt your emat.tech ID out of receiving such ads regardless of what device you are using. If you enable Limit AdTracking on your mobile device, third-party apps cannot use the Advertising Identifier, a non-personal device identifier, to serve you targeted ads. You may still see ads in the emat.tech's Store or News based on context like your search query or the channel you are reading. In third-party apps, you may see ads based on other information.
Me and my partners also use cookies and other technologies to remember personal information when you use my website, online services, and applications. My goal in these cases is to make your experience with emat.tech more convenient and personal. For example, knowing your first name lets me welcome you the next time you visit the emat.tech Online Store. Knowing your country and language, if you are a student, a researcher and your Institute helps me provide a customized and more useful shopping experience. Knowing someone using your computer or device has shopped for a certain product or used a particular service helps me make our advertising and email communications more relevant to your interests.
If you want to disable cookies go to to the privacy pane of your web browser to manage your preferences.
As is true of most internet services, I gather some information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type and language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit websites and applications, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.
I use this information to understand and analyze trends, to administer the site, to learn about user behavior on the site, to improve my product and services, and to gather demographic information about my user base as a whole. I may use this information in my marketing and advertising services.
In some of my email messages, I use a “click-through URL” linked to content on the emat.tech website. When customers click one of these URLs, they pass through a separate web server before arriving at the destination page on my website. I track this click-through data to help me determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of my customer communications. If you prefer not to be tracked in this way, you should not click text or graphic links in the email messages.
Pixel tags enable me to send email messages in a format customers can read, and they tell me whether mail has been opened. I may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to customers.

Disclosure to Third Parties
At times I may make certain personal information available to strategic partners that work with me to provide products and services, or that help emat.tech market to customers. I may also decline aspects of deletion or access requests if I believe doing so would undermine my legitimate use of data for anti-fraud and security purposes as described earlier. Online tools for the exercise of access, correction, or deletion requests are available by signing in to store.emat.tech Where the online tool is not currently available for access requests in your region, a request may be made directly to emat.tech.
